Casey doesn’t measure a case by the settlement number — he measures it by whether his client can actually get back to their life. That mindset has carried him through numerous trials across the Commonwealth and millions of dollars recovered for clients through trials, mediations, and settlements.
As a founding partner at River Run Law Group, Casey focuses on personal injury and workers’ compensation matters, which over the years have covered nearly every kind of case: injuries on the job, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, dog bites, victims of crime, civil rights violations, oil spills, and everything in between. He’s deeply involved in the Virginia legal community, serving as a member and chair of numerous committees.
Casey has also taken that fight to Richmond directly, testifying before the Virginia Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor on behalf of injured workers across the state. He advocated for two changes that made it into law: restoring permanent partial disability benefits for body parts affected by the compensable consequence doctrine, after the Supreme Court of Virginia struck the doctrine down in Merck & Co. v. Vincent, 299 Va. 705 (2021), and opening up COLA benefits to the Commonwealth’s lowest wage-earning workers, who’d previously been shut out of them entirely.
He’s hardworking and personable, and his approach with clients is simple: partner with them and go after the compensation they deserve, aggressively.
Casey lives in Richmond with his wife and their three kids, who keep him plenty busy outside of work. When he’s not working or spending time with family, you’ll find him outdoors — trout fishing in the rivers of southwest Virginia or after largemouth bass in the ponds and lakes across Central Virginia.
If he doesn’t answer his phone, it’s because 1) he’s wrangling one of the kids, 2) he’s on the phone with a client or 3) he’s too close to landing the next fish to stop for anything.
